Digital Transformation in the EUSAIR and the Role of European Digital Innovation Hubs.

On September 17, 2023, a significant session titled “Digital Transformation in the EUSAIR: The Role of European Digital Innovation Hubs” was held at the headquarters of the University of Economics of the Polytechnic University of the Marche, as part of the REDETE Conference.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the crucial role that European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) are assuming within the EUSAIR strategy (European Union Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionic Region). Digital Innovation Hubs not only facilitate the adoption of digital technologies but also serve as crucial points for collaboration among countries and regions.

Participating European Digital Innovation Hubs

During the session, four European Digital Innovation Hubs from the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network presented their case studies, sharing best practices and experiences of digital transformation in their respective contexts:

  • EDIH4Marche – An hub aimed at supporting the digitalization of SMEs in the Marche region.
  • EDIH CROBOHUB++ – A Croatian hub focused on digital innovation and cross-border collaboration.
  • DIGI-SI Konzorcij – A Slovenian digital consortium aimed at promoting the adoption of innovative technologies in businesses.
  • Digital Innovation Hub ONEX – A network of digital hubs oriented toward innovation and technological development.

These hubs discussed concrete use cases and digital transformation projects already underway or in development, providing a clear view of the challenges and opportunities that await the EUSAIR region.

The Future of Collaboration

The session marked the beginning of a collaborative path aimed at strengthening the role of EDIH in the digitalization of the EUSAIR area. The discussions were stimulating and laid the groundwork for future partnerships and concrete projects.
